Our Board of Trustees are extraordinary, servant leaders who voluntarily oversee the governing of The Christian School at Castle Hills. Their decisions affect the present and future lives of our students, which is why they ensure that each meeting honors God and aligns with our school’s mission, vision, and goals.
Kenneth V. "Tex" Carey
Tex Carey joined the Board of Trustees in 2009 and currently serves as Board President. Tex retired as a Colonel after serving in the U.S. Air Force for 29 years. In 1966 during the Vietnam War, he completed 100 missions over North Vietnam. Tex also held various command and management positions during his five-year assignment at the Pentagon. Tex earned a Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Auburn University. Tex served as President for seven years for his HOA and also serves at Parkhills Baptist Church, where he and his wife, Joan, are members. Tex and Joan have two sons, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Dan Eason joined the Board of Trustees in 2014 and serves as Vice President. Dan is the Founder and CEO of Energized Real Estate, the parent company of RealTelligence – a data analytics software business. Dan is also a real estate broker for Clarity23 Real Estate Group and is a partner in a water brokering business (edwardswater.com). He began his career as Founder and CEO of a regional Internet Service Provider (ISP) that he sold in 2000. Dan has a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. Dan is a former President of the Castle Hills Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) and a member of the Forbes Real Estate Council. Dan and his wife, Heather, attend Oak Hills Church in San Antonio and have three children who are students at The Christian School at Castle Hills.
Adah (Gay) Voigt
Adah (Gay) Voigt joined the Board of Trustees in 2010 and currently serves as Secretary. She has 32 years of teaching experience in both public and private schools and taught at The Christian School at Castle Hills (historically Castle Hills First Baptist School) from 1988 to 2003, before retiring. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Our Lady of The Lake University. Gay loves reading, writing, music, traveling, and the San Antonio Spurs. She serves on the school’s Board Governance and Fine Arts Improvement Committees. Gay and her husband, Wayne, are members of Castle Hills Church and are the proud parents of two Castle Hills alumni – Marcia and Stephen. Their daughter, Marcia, teaches high school English at The Christian School of Castle Hills. Stephen’s daughter also attends Castle Hills.
Martha Patton joined the Board of Trustees in 2009 and serves as Parliamentarian. She spent 29 years at USAA as a Customer Service Representative,Training Instructor, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Facilitator, and Program Manager. Martha has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management. She is a member of Shavano Park Women’s Club and the Auxiliary of SA chapter for TSCPA. Martha currently serves as an Accounting Assistant at Kass Autobody. She and her husband, Bill, attend and serve at Castle Hills Church. They have two grown children and three grandchildren. In her spare time, Martha enjoys reading, event planning, and sewing.
Mike L. Anchors
Mike Anchors joined the Board of Trustees in 2008 and serves as the Treasurer. He is a CPA in Public Accounting and graduated from Truett McConnell University as Valedictorian. Mike previously served as Treasurer for The San Antonio YMCA and Chairman of the Finance Committee for Castle Hills Church. He served as a former Deacon at Castle Hills Church and is a current member of the Executive Committee Alumni Association of Truett McConnell University. He and his wife, Brenda, have two grown children and two grandchildren. His hobbies include golf, cycling, jogging, travelling, and studying God’s word with Bible Study Fellowship.
Randy Aaron joined the Board of Trustees in 2012. His work experience includes 30 years in pharmaceutical sales, four years as a pastor, and two years as a church education minister. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry, as well as a Master of Divinity degree. Randy and his wife, Margie, attend Parkhills Baptist Church where Randy is a Bible Study teacher. His hobbies include Biblical research and archaeology studies. Randy and Margie have two sons and eight grandchildren.
Joe Buck joined the Board of Trustees in 2008. He retired from the U.S. Air Force where he served as a physical therapist. Joe then spent 24 years as a civilian PT. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Physical Therapy, as well as a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Joe is a member of Castle Hills Church and serves on their Finance Committee and Security Team. All three of Joe’s sons graduated from The Christian School at Castle Hills (historically Castle Hills First Baptist School). His oldest son is Assistant Dean in the College of Business at Abilene Christian University. His middle son is an athletic director for a middle school, and his youngest is an on-site chaplain at Dollywood Theme Park. Joe’s hobbies include woodworking, visiting the shooting range, and auto restoration.
Tom Cuthbert joined the Board of Trustees in 2016. Since 2012, he has served as Chairman for Vistage San Antonio, a private advisory board for CEOs, executives, and business owners. Tom is the recipient of two Vistage Chair Excellence Awards and has a 35-year business career that includes leading the turnaround team of a national restaurant chain, raising millions in venture capital, and founding several companies. The most recent company, Adometry, was acquired by Google. In 2016, he was honored with the Tech Titan Mentor Award by the San Antonio Business Journal. Tom serves on the board of directors for Christian Unity Ministries, Tech Bloc, and SA Works. In May 2017, he led a group to acquire Sandler Training and now serves as Chairman of Sales San Antonio, LLC. Tom and his wife, Jill, have five children. Two of whom are students at The Christian School at Castle Hills.
Eric Eisbrenner joined the Board of Trustees in 2016. With more than 35 years of financial experience, Eric serves as the CFO for CertaDose, a medical device start-up with the mission to eliminate the deaths of 7,000 children each year. Eric is the former CFO at Invictus Medical, Inc. and President of Tri-Surgical Sales. He is also the co-founder and former CFO at Vidacare Corporation, a global medical device startup company located in San Antonio, Texas. Eric is a CPA and CMA from Canada. He attends Hillside Fellowship Church. In his spare time, Eric enjoys traveling, reading, spending time in God’s word. He has two step-children and 3 grandchildren who live in Canada.
Kennon Guglielmo, Ph.D.
Dr. Kennon Guglielmo joined the Board of Trustees in 2017. He is the CEO of Genisys Controls, as well as the Founder and President of EControls. Kennon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, as well as a Master’s degree and Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology.
He is a member of YPO and serves on the Board of Directors of Rush Enterprises, Genisys Controls, and Morgan’s Wonderland. He and his wife, Laura, attend Christ Episcopal Church. They have four sons and one daughter. Kennon’s hobbies include hunting and anything that needs repairing.
David Jones, Ph.D.
Dr. David Jones joined the Board of Trustees in 2017 and has many years of experience in teaching and administration in both public and private schools. Before coming to The Christian School at Castle Hills to teach AP English and serve as the English Department Head, he spent 23 years as school superintendent in the Rio Grande Valley. Dr. Jones is a member of the Texas Association of Schools, Texas Rural Schools Association, Lions Club, Howard Jones Ministries, and Kairos Prison Ministry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, a Master’s degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master’s degree from Texas Christian University, and a Doctorate degree from NOVA Southeastern University. His hobbies include playing golf. Dr. Jones and his wife, Arlene, have two daughters, one son, and one granddaughter. He and his wife attend The First United Methodist Church in Bruni, TX.
Marvin Kunkel joined the Board of Trustees in 2015. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Marvin taught and coached football for six years. His work experience also includes an 11-year tenure with ESCO in San Antonio. In 1981, Marvin became founder, chairman and president of PFV Supply in San Antonio. Marvin and his wife, LaVon, are members of Park Hills Baptist Church and have three children and nine great-grandchildren. Marvin’s hobbies include golfing, hunting, and spending time with their growing family.
David Schmitt began serving on the Board of Trustees in 2017. After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, David earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and spent 24 years with World Savings Bank in a career spanning from Branch Manager to Senior Vice President. He spent four years as a senior management consultant for credit unions and has been Director of Project Management for Q2 E-Banking for the last six years. David has served on the board and as past president of Rebuilding Together SA, a leader of Men’s Ministries at Wayside Chapel for three years, and as past CHS Athletic Booster Club President. He and his wife, Luann, are members of Community Bible Church. They have two children who graduated from The Christian School at Castle Hills. Their daughter attends The University of Mary Hardin Baylor and their son attends Abilene Christian University. In his spare time, David enjoys golf, fishing, Bible study, and RC planes.
Donna Vinarskai joined the Board of Trustees in 2012. She teaches music and instrumental music and holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Donna serves as a member and President of the Crownridge Music Club. She is also a member of Texas Federation of Music Clubs, National Federation of Music Clubs, San Antonio Music Teachers Association, Texas Music Teachers Association, and the National Music Teachers Association. Donna and her husband, Jim, attend Castle Hills Church and have two grown children who graduated from Castle Hills. In her spare time, Donna enjoys reading, walking, watching movies, sewing, and puzzles.
Cindy Williams joined the Board of Trustees in 2013 and serves on its Fine Arts Committee. She is a retired elementary science teacher and holds a Master of Science Education degree. Cindy has served as Staff Instructor for Indiana State University Science Education, a homeschool tutor and teacher, and Coordinator of Protestant Education for the U.S.A.F. chapel. Cindy is also a member of the San Antonio Bible Based Science Association, Philanthropic Educational Organization, and the Family Educators Alliance of South Texas. Cindy and her husband, Carl, have been married 40 years. They have one son, one daughter, and one granddaughter. In her spare time, Cindy enjoys reading, puzzles, cooking, creation science development, and teaching.
