Our Board of Trustees are extraordinary, servant leaders who voluntarily oversee the governing of The Christian School at Castle Hills. Their decisions affect the present and future lives of our students, which is why they ensure that each meeting honors God and aligns with our school’s mission, vision, and goals.

Tom Cuthbert

PRESIDENT

Tom Cuthbert joined the Board of Trustees in 2016. For over 10 years, he has served as a Master Chair and CEO Coach for Vistage in San Antonio. Tom chairs six Vistage groups made up of over 100 CEOs and business leaders from diverse industries in San Antonio. He spends over 1,000 hours per year in private, closed-door conversations with CEOs.

Tom also serves as Chairman for Sales City Group, formed to acquire and operate Sandler Training franchises across the US.  He is a co-founder and serves on the board of directors for Tech Bloc.

Tom and his wife, Jill, have five children, (two of whom are students at CHS) and three grandchildren.  They have attended Wayside Chapel for over 10 years.

Matt Wilbanks

VICE PRESIDENT

Matt Wilbanks joined the Board of Trustees in 2019 and serves on the Strategic and Development Program committees. Matt is the father of two Castle Hills students and is married to Erin. He studied business administration at UTSA and is an active entrepreneur in the tech startup community. He and his family are devoted members of Mission City Church. In his spare time, Matt is an avid runner and enjoys spending time on the BBQ grill.

Frank Corte, Jr.

TREASURER

Frank has over 39 years of experience in public and private sectors, including the military and the state legislature. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1982 with a degree in Construction Science and earned a master’s degree in Strategic Studies in 2002 from the U.S. Army War College. He served in the Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve that included a tour of Iraq in 2006. In 2012, Frank retired as a Colonel with 32 years of service. His private sector work experience includes property management, real estate, and business operations in heavy and utility construction, manufacturing, and recycling. From 1993 to 2011, Frank served in the Texas House of Representatives and was appointed the Chairman of Defense and Veterans Affairs in 2003. Frank has been a member of University Baptist Church for 43 years, where he is a Trustee, Deacon, and Director of Finance and Facilities. He and his wife, Valerie, have three adult children who attended The Christian Schools at Castle Hills. They have one grandchild.

Martha Patton

SECRETARY

Martha Patton joined the Board of Trustees in 2009 and serves as Secretary. She spent 29 years at USAA in various departments to include Customer Service, Training, Finance and Treasury, Systems, and Plans and Programs. Martha has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management.  After leaving USAA, Martha assisted her husband, Bill, in his businesses. Currently, Martha volunteers as the Corresponding Secretary of the Auxiliary of SA chapter for TSCPA. She and her husband attend and serve at Mission City Church. They have two grown children and three grandchildren. In her spare time, Martha enjoys reading, event planning, and sewing.

Tex Carey

PRESIDENT EMERITUS

Tex Carey joined the Board of Trustees in 2009 and currently serves as President Emeritus of the Board. Tex retired as a Colonel after serving in the U.S. Air Force for 29 years. In 1966 during the Vietnam War, he completed 100 missions over North Vietnam. Tex also held various command and management positions during his five-year assignment at the Pentagon. Tex earned a Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Auburn University. Tex served as President for seven years for his HOA and also serves at Parkhills Baptist Church, where he and his wife, Joan, are members. Tex and Joan have two sons, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Dan Eason

Dan Eason joined the Board of Trustees in 2014. Dan is the Co-Owner and CFO of Uvalco Supply and Uvalco Powersports & Equipment. Dan is also a licensed real estate broker and partner in a water brokering business. Dan has a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. Dan is a former President of the CHS Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF). Dan and his wife, Heather, attend Community Bible Church in San Antonio and have three children who have all attended The Christian School at Castle Hills.

Eric Eisbrenner

Eric Eisbrenner joined the Board of Trustees in 2016. With more than 40 years of financial business experience, Eric is a fractional CFO at Invictus Medical, Inc. and President of Tri-Surgical Sales. He along with Dr. Larry Miller co-founded Vidacare Corporation, a global medical device company located in San Antonio, Texas. Vidacare Corporation’s medical device, the EZ-IO is a revolutionary device which has been credited for saving many millions of lives by providing rapid vascular access when peripheral veins are not available in cases such as heart attacks and anaphylactic shock.  Eric is a CPA and CMA from Canada. Recently Eric and his wife Marijo purchased an Assisted Living Facility in Illinois where they care for 14 widows and widowers. Eric and Marijo enjoy traveling, reading, spending time in God’s word and making a difference. Eric has two step-children and 3 grandchildren who live in Pensacola Florida and Lexington, Kentucky.

Kennon Guglielmo, Ph.D.

Dr. Kennon Guglielmo joined the Board of Trustees in 2017. He is the CEO of Genisys Controls, as well as the Founder and President of EControls. Kennon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, as well as a Master’s degree and Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology.   

He is a member of YPO and serves on the Board of Directors of Rush Enterprises, Genisys Controls, and Morgan’s Wonderland. He and his wife, Laura, attend Christ Episcopal Church. They have four sons and one daughter. Kennon’s hobbies include hunting and anything that needs repairing.

Suzie Buck

Suzie Buck joined the Board of Trustees in 2022 and is a member of the Board Prayer Ministry. She has worked as a licensed Physical Therapist for 49 years and retired last year. She studied at Stephen F. Austin University, The University of Texas at Austin and received her Physical Therapy degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She has served in China and Puerto Rico on mission trips. Her husband Joe served on the Board for 6 years. They are grateful parents of three Castle Hills alumni – Clint, Jason, and Joey. Suzie attends Mission City Church and is involved in the prayer, women’s, and sewing ministries. Suzie loves to spend time with her five grandchildren, work in her yard, travel, and fellowship with friends.

Matt Reedy

Matt Reedy joined the CHS Board of Trustees in 2021. He serves as Chief Technology Officer for Addiction Resource Systems, a technology company building a conversational app for recovering alcoholics and narcotics addicts. Matt‘s work experience also includes ten years at USAA in data and analytics and innovation. Before his work at USAA, Matt worked for and helped co-found a number of technology firms in San Antonio. Matt also volunteers and serves Angel Flight South Central, Trinity University Computer Science Advisory Board, and Tech Bloc. Matt and his wife, Catherine, attend Oak Hills Church. Together, they have five children and nine grandchildren. In his free time, Matt enjoys golf, reading, movies, and traveling.

Bob Leckie

Robert B. Leckie is a retired business executive, lawyer, and negotiator based In San Antonio, Texas. He spent much of his career with U.K. public companies in law, management, and acquisitions. He served as General Counsel of Canadian public company Indal Limited and as North American General Counsel of Novar plc. He served for several years as Chief Executive of Novar’s half-billion-dollar North American Industrial Division. He has served on Boards of Directors of public companies listed in the United States and Canada and of private companies there and elsewhere. He has lectured at three different universities over the years on subjects as diverse as mathematics, business law, and electronics.

Karen Leckie

Karen Leckie has had a 40-year career in banking and is currently Senior Vice President in the

Private Banking Division of Amegy Bank of Texas. She has special expertise in working with physicians and healthcare professionals. She has been involved in numerous healthcare-related organizations including the Cancer Center Council, Bexar County Medical Society, Healthcare Think Tank, and the Health Cell. She has been a long-time covenant member of Mission City Church serving on various committees over the past 20 years and has been involved in the Children’s Ministry for the past 16 years. She is married to Robert Leckie and they have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Karen enjoys reading, movies, and gardening in her spare time.
