(7th – 8th grade)

Welcome to Castle Hills, the Best Private Middle School in San Antonio! Thank you for following God’s guidance in choosing the right school for your student. We believe a student can only be truly successful when they have the firm foundation of Christ evident in their home, a local church, and school (Ecclesiastes 4:12). At Castle Hills, we partner with parents in the education of their students. It is through this partnership that we have been able to develop a familial culture and tradition of excellence at our school. I welcome you to come in for a visit and see firsthand what God is doing on our campus.
As a product of a Christian education myself, I can attest to the significance of young men and women being trained to be academically excellent, globally-minded, and distinctively Christian. While teaching in the greater San Antonio area, God brought me to Castle Hills after hearing about what He was doing in the lives of students at the school. Having finished my master’s degree in Education in 2013, I began teaching Social Studies in high school before moving to administration in the fall of 2019.
Through these past several years, I have seen God at work in the lives of students. One of the biggest joys I have experienced is through the alumni who have returned to Castle Hills – some as parents, entrusting their children to Castle Hills for the same Biblically-based education they received, and some who have joined the faculty and staff at Castle Hills. The alumni who return will many times say that they went into teaching because of the influence of one of their teachers, coaches, or other staff members. This is quite a testimony of the faithful servants across the years who invested their lives here.
It is incredible to see where God has led many of our students since their time here on campus.
He is at work across the United States and around the world with students who have passed through our halls. They trust in the Lord, and He is using them to serve in places such as the Texas Legislature, pastoring across the state and internationally, serving as lawyers, doctors, teachers, and the list goes on. In many respects, we will not know the extent of God’s reach through the Christian School at Castle Hills until we get to heaven and see the full impact of educating students to know Christ and make Christ known.
When your student comes to Castle Hills, he or she will experience at least two things. First, they will be loved by our faculty, staff, and students. Second, they will be challenged by some of the most dedicated and knowledgeable teachers in education today. Many of our teachers have acquired graduate and terminal degrees to aid them in their calling from God to pour into the lives of young people who will be the leaders of the next generation.
We invite you to visit our campus for a tour and to meet our faculty and students. Come and see how a Castle Hills education will prepare your young man or young woman to make a difference for Christ in our community and around the world.
At Castle Hills, we partner with parents in the education of their students.
Taught from a decidedly Christian worldview, the middle school program at Castle Hills offers a rigorous academic curriculum along with many elective opportunities. Skilled teachers provide comprehensive learning through small class sizes, advanced technology, and real-world application. Like all Castle Hills students, the 7th and 8th graders are required to take a daily Bible class as part of their core curriculum, wear uniforms, and attend weekly chapels. In addition, our middle schoolers are issued their laptops, which they are authorized to use both in the classroom and at home.
Because a well-rounded education is important, middle school students are given the chance to participate in fine arts classes, such as band, art, and choir. Core classes depend on each grade, but students can expect to take classes in computer programming, Spanish, Texas state history, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, English, Life Science, and many others. Furthering the goal of providing a broad, Christian education, all students participate in some sort of service project each year. Some of these projects have included tutoring and mentoring students from low-income communities in our area or Christmas caroling at local nursing homes. Furthermore, the 8th graders have the opportunity to participate in a class trip to Washington, D.C., allowing their American history class to truly jump to life!
Other extra-curricular opportunities include the National Junior Honor Society, class officers, student-led Bible studies, class parties and activities, Robotics Club, and many competitive middle school athletic sports. Please see the Athletics page below for further information on the sports offered by CHS. Students also enjoy class comradery through the annual middle and high school Fall Retreat, Eagle Spirit Days, Watermelon Bash, and school productions.

Our juniors and seniors have the privilege of serving on a mission trip each year where they continue to develop their leadership skills and share the Gospel.

Our curriculum is biblically immersed at every level, ensuring that students receive an education grounded in a Christian worldview. In grades K–5, we use a Christ-centered curriculum that integrates faith into all subjects, fostering spiritual and academic growth from an early age. At the secondary level, our history and science programs are also Christ-centered, guiding students to explore the world through the lens of biblical truth.
To maintain high academic standards and ensure alignment with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), we conduct a yearly evaluation of all textbooks and instructional materials. This process ensures that each resource not only supports our biblical foundation but also meets grade-level objectives and state guidelines. Through this careful review, we strive to provide students with a curriculum that is both academically rigorous and spiritually enriching.
The safety and security of our students and faculty are of the utmost importance. Our campus operates as a closed campus, with controlled access throughout the school day. We have two dedicated security guards on duty daily to ensure a safe and secure environment. All campus doors remain locked during school hours, and our facilities are monitored by over 90 security cameras, with live feeds actively observed in the administrative offices.
In addition, we maintain a strong working relationship with the Castle Hills Police Department, located nearby, which allows for rapid response and ongoing collaboration. Our comprehensive security measures are designed to provide peace of mind for our families while fostering a safe environment for learning and growth.

At The Christian School at Castle Hills, all doctrine taught aligns with our Statement of Faith and is grounded in the truth of God’s Word. We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God and the foundation for all instruction, both spiritual and academic.
Our teaching affirms core biblical doctrines, including the triune nature of God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, and future return. We teach that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone and that the Holy Spirit indwells and empowers believers to live godly lives.
All subjects across grade levels are taught from a biblical worldview, helping students not only grow in knowledge, but also in faith and character. Our goal is to partner with families and churches to disciple students in truth, equipping them to impact the world for Christ.
To learn more, we invite you to read our full Statement of Faith.
