Welcome to the Early College Academy at The Christian School at Castle Hills, the Best Dual Credit Academy in San Antonio. Highly motivated students can earn up to 60+ hours of transferable Dual Credit Classes and graduate from High School with 50% of their College education already behind them by earning Dual Credit with their High School courses. College credit will be awarded via Colorado Christian University and the University of Texas at Austin through our Dual Credit Partnerships. College Courses are also available through McMurry University.
In addition to the 40+ Dual Credit Classes in College Coursework, we also offer over 30 additional hours of college credits that does not go onto college transcripts but is highly valued for colleges & universities.

Dual Credit College Courses
Students enrolled in the CHS Early College Academy can earn 30+ hours of transferable Dual Credits and graduate High School with 25% of their College education already behind them by earning Dual Credit with their High School courses. The college credit will be awarded via Colorado Christian University, University of Texas at Austin and/or McMurry University through our Dual Credit Partnerships.

Dual Credit Engineering Design and Analysis Course

Engineering Design and Analysis is a dual credit course designed to experience how course assignments, instructor expectations, and grading may differ between high school and college engineering programs. The college course is a spring semester course in which the Engineering students apply for acceptance in November by submitting a portfolio of their high school work.

COLORADO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY is a four-year liberal arts university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission; therefore, our credits transfer to many colleges and universities nationwide.

THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Engineering Course is a spring semester course in which the student applies for acceptance in November by submitting a portfolio of their high school work.

Students in this course take the course for High School credit over a full academic year.  Students complete hands-on engineering design projects and document their work in notebooks, written reports, and presentations.

Assignments are submitted to the University professors online.

The following college course will be available for $100/credit hour. All Dual Credit courses meet the graduation requirements from UT and Castle Hills. Hours listed are college credit hours.

JUNIOR YEAR • 3 hrs

Engineering Design and Analysis
3hrs. - Intended for non-Cockrell School of Engineering students. Introduction to the scope of engineering, foundations of engineering science, and engineering design.

General Chemistry
4hrs. - To enable students to understand the proper roles of
science, technology, and mathematics within our society.
Principles of Communication
3hrs. - Develop communicators as advocates capable of bridging boundaries, whether they are cultural, professional, or technological.
Intro to Computer Science & IT
4hrs. - To prepare students for professional careers and graduate study in computer science through the teaching of theory, concepts, and problem solving skills.
Contemporary Math
3hrs. - Provide a foundation in mathematics that will prepare students for a career in Mathematics or graduate school.
General Physics
4hrs. - To enable students to understand the proper roles of
science, technology, and mathematics within our society.
American National Government
3hrs. - Seeks to equip students with the intellectual tools for understanding: the political systems of the United States and other countries across the globe.
General Psychology
3hrs. - Demonstrate an understanding of scientific inquiry and methods of research utilized in psychology.
